Protecting the Patient
First
Every day in the United States an estimated 550 people die
from preventable medical errors, which is over 200,000 people a year,
making it the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. Make
the commitment to put patient safety first.
Listen to the patient and the
family. Trust
their opinion- they know the patient best.
Trust your instincts.
Listen to each other.
Question, Question, Question all orders and changes in the patients condition that do not seem right.
Be assertive if your patient’s condition is
deteriorating.
